Help Our Seniors
This page is strictly for seniors. But we do have advice and information that may help others that are struggling to make ends meet. We need companies that will give discounts to seniors, I don't mean fake discounts, I mean real ones. Do you have any idea what most seniors get today. Most seniors served Canada as a tax paying member of society for over 50 years, Canada repays them with a pension less than a person on government assistance. We at Virtual Walk want to help our seniors, we need to give them some hope. Obviously we can't ask the government for help. Many have tried. Getting the government see what they're doing to our loyal seniors is fruitless. Old Age Pensions should be based on how long you've lived and worked in Canada. Those who've been a Canadian citizen all their lives get the same as a person that's been a citizen for less than 10 years. Where's the fair here? Let Virtual Walk help. Medications:
For those seniors paying the $2.00 prescription fee! just to let you know there are many that don't charge. Wal-Mart and Zellers are two of them. The worst I find is Shoppers Drug Mart. They were the biggest complainers when the government decided to clamp down on over charging by pharmacies. Guess what Shoppers Drug Mart charges more for prescription fees than any other pharmacy that I've checked. So if you have to pay for your prescriptions stay away from Shoppers Drug Mart.

Canada Pension:
Imagine this, my Mother had 6 children and was a stay at home Mom. But during the Christmas season she worked at a department store to make extra money to help Dad at Christmas. When Mom turned 65 her Canada Pension was $4.11 yes four dollars and eleven cents, to which they sent her a cheque every month. What a joke it cost our
wonderful government more to process that cheque than what it was worth. After my Dad passed away Mom said, what she was getting to live on was so little she either had to sell the house or pray God would take her to join Dad. God answered her prayers she joined him less than 2 years later. From what I can see seniors are a nuisance to our government. They feel it's better to increase our immigration with young big tax payers than help those who've paid taxes as Canadians for most over 40 years.
